Abstract

The digitalization of society has altered how social structures are formed, maintained, and negotiated, including the production and distribution of religious authority. This shift presents an academic challenge, as social structures are no longer constructed solely through institutions, status, and interpersonal relationships but are also mediated by digital platforms, networks, algorithms, and mechanisms of attention distribution. Previous studies on social structure have tended to adopt conventional sociological perspectives, whereas research on digital *dakwah* (Islamic outreach) has largely focused on communication strategies, media usage, and message effectiveness. This gap highlights a lack of integration among the concepts of digital social structure, power relations, the transformation of religious authority, and transformative *dakwah* within a unified theoretical framework. This article employs perspectives from structuration theory, network society, power relations, and transformative *dakwah* to explain the reconfiguration of social structures within the digital ecosystem. The study utilizes a critical conceptual review method, involving the critical analysis and synthesis of relevant academic literature across the fields of sociology, Islamic Studies, digital society, and *dakwah*. The article’s central argument is that digitalization does not eliminate conventional social structures; rather, it reconfigures them through interactions among actors, institutions, networks, platforms, and algorithms, thereby generating new patterns of power relations and religious authority. The article contributes by developing a "Digital Social Structure Power Transformation Model," which positions *dakwah* not merely as religious communication, but as a transformative praxis for fostering awareness, participation, and social change within digital society.
